Yoga Teacher

How did you first come to yoga, & what was that experience like?

The spiritual classic, Autobiography of a Yogi by Paramhansa Yogananda ignited my interest. That book introduces the reader to many spiritual giants, who demonstrate what is possible through dedicated yoga practice.

What is your favorite experience of Yoga?

I love listening to those who are far advanced in yoga practice. Without exception, they have a hilarious sense of humor, because they have learned not to take this life so seriously. One tiny example: What did the yogi say to the hot dog vendor? Make me one with everything.

A piece of Yogic Philosophy that's special to you?

From Swami Kriyananda: "Relate to people and conditions as they are, not as you would like them to be." Very practical advice that when taken to heart will reduce much misery and whining!

Why do you teach?

My life is immeasurably richer, happier, and filled with more purpose because wise and kind-hearted teachers took the time and effort to teach me. I feel a duty to give back by teaching others.
